Top Ten Social Networks in Armenia

Most World Maps of Social Networks ignore Armenia or display wrong information. No wonder - we're such a small country with insignificant internet use. However, understanding the use and dynamics of social networks in Armenia is vital for media businesses, advertisers, social marketers, in order to grab the opportunities and come closer to their users.


The task, however, is complicated by lack of either social surveys or reliable site metrics. I've used a combination of Alexa.com, Circle.am and Compete.com analytics to come up with the following link.

  1. Odnoklassniki
  2. Facebook
  3. V Kontakte
  4. YouTube
  5. Livejournal.com
  6. Haysingles.com
  7. Hayutyun.am
  8. Armenia-Online.ru
  9. Hayland.am
  10. Hayastan.com
Sadly, my absolute favorite, Twitter.com didn't even make to the top ten of this list. What a pity!

I've tried to "return" to Twitter many many times and again: there's something it doesn't have, and for that reason, is not able to make me stick to the monitor, and never want to leave the site...
Still dont know: what is so good about Twitter?

I don't really know. But scanning my twitter list for 5 minutes is enough to know all the news that I'm interested in. It's like the best short news resource I've seen in my life.
