Na/Ne annual media competition to promote gender-aware coverage

The Na/Ne media award
Journalists working in Armenia are eligable to apply for the Na/Ne annual media competition, which seeks to promote professional and responsible coverage of woman issues and gender equality.

Journalists representing printed, online media, TV and radio companies of Armenia as well as independent journalists are eligible to submit their publications by December 31, 2010, to take part in the competition. The published and broadcast publications and their authors may also be nominated by NGOs and individuals.

Materials must have been published or broadcast within the period from January to December 2010 and covered the activities and achievements, problems and challenges of women in political, economic and social spheres from the gender equality perspective. Publications may be presented in any of the journalistic genres.

I would especially like to encourage bloggers to submit their posts, because this is a great chance to bring a lot of media attention to your blogs. Last year only a handful of bloggers had submitted related blog-posts. Admittedly, in many cases blogs had better coverage, than most print and online media in Armenia.

Na/Ne media competition is organized by the British Council, the British Embassy Yerevan, the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
