Google Cloud Connect: killing Microsoft one step at a time

Google announced an amazingly convenient plugin/service - "Google Cloud Connect for Microsoft Office," which it says will bring collaborative multi-person editing to "the familiar Microsoft® Office experience."


On the plugin's download page we read: "You can share, backup, and simultaneously edit Microsoft Word, PowerPoint®, and Excel® documents with coworkers."

Sounds almost too easy and too good to be true.

But I see a huge move here towards the untouchable empire of Microsoft, its area of dominance.

This is fascinating... somebody, get me some popcorn!
